Hello Zaadzsters,

 I'm starting my blog with sharing some impressions from the FIFA World Soccer Cup 2006 here in Germany. It's an overwhelming "WE-feeling" here, hard to describe. If you like have a look here or here.

 Yesterday was the Quarter-final vs. Argentina. Germany won 5:3. The party is going on... It was so thrilling. It finished in a penalty shootout with a german goalkeeper Lehmann having done a great job. There was an touching moment when german's replaced goalkeeper Kahn encouraged his "rival" Lehmann before the shootout. 

There are also a little bit of shadow elements showing up here, because of the splitted relationship of many germans to the "national pride - theme" (the nazi history). It´s time for healing. I can't remember a game, seeing such a lot  players and people singing the national anthem in that way.

I think the slogan for the World Cup "Die Welt zu Gast bei Freunden - A time to make friends" was a brilliant idea by the organizational commission. It works.
